Give a step.Change a life.

A student-led service organization expanding access to footwear, textiles, food support, mentorship, and international aid through organized campus and community partnerships.

Mission Statement

Suffering does not
receive equal
attention.

SHOETHICS empowers communities both domestically and abroad through service and access to textiles. We mobilize students and community members to advance youth empowerment, food security, mentorship, civic engagement, and international service while building lasting partnerships that create sustainable community impact.

Change begins with those who refuse to look away.

— The Shoethics Movement

The Crisis

Why the Congo?

Across the world, suffering does not look the same on every continent, and it does not receive the same attention. While the world has rightly rallied around crises like Palestine and Gaza, the humanitarian tragedy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been largely overlooked in mainstream media.

Today, millions in the Congo face extreme poverty, displacement, and food insecurity, many as a result of decades of conflict, resource exploitation, and economic instability. Families go days without meals, children walk barefoot in harsh conditions, and basic essentials we often take for granted are scarce.

As a central focus of SHOETHICS' international service work, the Congo campaign equips Congolese families with dignity, mobility, and nourishment through community-driven aid.

01

Severe Humanitarian Challenges

Communities across the Congo are facing extreme poverty and displacement driven by decades of conflict, resource exploitation, and economic instability.

02

Children Walking Barefoot

Many children walk barefoot through harsh conditions every day — risking disease, injury, and the loss of something as simple as the dignity of a pair of shoes.

03

Food Insecurity

Families go days without meals. Food insecurity and lack of access to basic goods remain urgent, daily realities for millions.

04

A Crisis Overlooked

We believe ignoring suffering is not an option. While mainstream media looks elsewhere, we act where help is needed most.

What We Do

Four pillars,
one movement.

Humanitarian Aid

We organize drives that deliver clothing, footwear, and food directly to communities in need.

Access & Opportunity

We treat basic necessities as tools for opportunity by restoring the shoes, hygiene, and dignity that circumstance takes away.

Youth Empowerment

We invest in young people directly through mentorship, workshops, experiences, and our athlete-led programming.

Partnership & Systems Building

We build the infrastructure that lets this work outlast any single class year or leader — new chapters, institutional partnerships, and formal recognition.
